Crop Walk - Verona -- October 11th

The first Verona Crop Walk was a HUGE success!!

The event sponsored by the VANN (Verona Area Needs Network) was hosted by Salem United Church of Christ. The route started and ended at Salem but took walkers displaying signs of support throughout Verona and past the other churches involved in this event: St James, Sugar River United Methodist Church, and St Andrews. The walkers were greeted back at Salem to the sounds of the Sugar River Band and refreshments. When we started planning for this event we hoped for 50 walkers. We were completely surprised the day of the walk when 140 walkers were present!! Not only did the number of walkers surprise us but the total amount of dollars raised was amazing. The grand total for all of Verona is $8938.50!!! Our goal of $1500 for Sugar River was also well surpassed!!! You are an awesome giving congregation. This was an extremely rewarding experience for us and we can not wait to make this an even better event next year.
