Engage - A Lenten Guide for Spiritual Renewal: Service

By the very title of this series, “Engage” is the implication that there is something worth engaging. Do we question if we really need each other? “And if we do, why? Can I live my solitary life, with my individual rights as most important?” Yet, God has created us to be in community and we are most “alive” when we care for others through our actions. “True service is much more than something we do--it is who we are created to be. It is more than an activity, it is way of life. Any time we love, listen to, or lift up others, we serve.” How is your serve?

Matthew 20:26-28

26But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; 27And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: 28Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. (KJV)
