Enough: Discovering Joy Through Simplicity and Generosity

One of Jesus’ great parables tells of a sower whose seeds fell among thorns. Though they began to grow, they were choked out by “the cares of the world and the lure of wealth” (Matthew 13:22).

That image speaks powerfully to our lives today. Many of us are caught in the endless pursuit of “enough”—a cycle that often leads to stress and fear instead of peace and joy.

Over the next few weeks, we will focus on Enough: Discovering Joy Through Simplicity and Generosity during worship. We’ll explore what the Bible teaches about faithful financial living, hear real stories of people navigating financial challenges, and offer practical tools to help assess your finances and build a biblical plan.

This emphasis will conclude with a time of commitment and celebration during worship, as we offer our gifts to God for the coming year. (See the schedule that follows.)

Join us as we learn how to find contentment, embrace generosity, and discover the joy of living with enough.

9/28/25

On Sunday, October 12, we will begin a churchwide study and worship emphasis called Enough: Discovering Joy Through Simplicity and Generosity. Over a period of five weeks, we will look at some of the financial challenges facing us as a nation and examine our own priorities, spending, and giving habits. In addition to exploring biblical principles of financial management, we will learn about the true joy that comes through simplicity and generosity. At the end of this series, we will have the opportunity to make personal commitments of giving for the coming year. We will consecrate these commitments on Sunday, November 9.
